Lou's PDI Group was set up by Lou Walsh, an absolute inspiration to the industry who wanted nothing but the best for all instructors.
Our Story
About Us
​Lou set up the group in 2018, with us working together to provide support for thousands - with over 4,000 instructors qualifying through the group over the years.
Lou's PDI Group is a lasting legacy to Lou - continuing to run and provide support to the 2,100+ PDIs who currently use the group today and find it valuable.

Any PDI, regardless of who they're training with, can join Lou's PDI Group. Our group is not a 'Go Green' group - we provide free support, training, Zoom sessions and resources for every PDI.
​
We know that the support and guidance PDIs receive in Lou's PDI Group helps shape them into the next generation of driving instructors, and that the ethos of the group will be taken into their work and they'll become a wonderful representative for the driving instructor industry as a whole. THIS is our passion behind the group.​​
What We Do
Lou's PDI Group provides useful downloadable resources, targeted tips and training posts, free training videos, industry updates, and our dedicated team of admin ensure that each post has constructive, accurate support, filling in the missing gaps where needed.

We also host free fortnightly Zoom Coffee Evenings, aimed to give PDIs a safe space to talk with us, ask questions, and discuss different training topics.
We recognise that PDIs value the space we protect for PDIs only, and for this reason we have a weekly 'Kick Out' Celebration, famously started by Lou. Once PDIs qualify, we celebrate their success and they graduate to The Green Side - a dedicated space just for those who've graduated in Lou's PDI Group. The ethos remains the same, with more experienced ADIs supporting the newly qualified ADIs as they graduate. ​This means that Lou's PDI Group remains a PDI only space, and new ADIs can graduate into a dedicated safe space to ask questions and get support from like minded instructors.

How you can help and get involved
We often get asked by ADIs and Trainers: 'How can we help?'​
And we're asked every week by PDIs: 'Do you know any trainers in my area?'
​
For this reason - we hugely value ADIs and Trainers who are happy to support PDIs. Over the years, we've built a huge UK Supporters Map, with ADIs and Trainers who are happy to support PDIs. You might be happy to offer a listening ear and share your experiences, share local route knowledge and the best places to practice parallel parking, or you may be able to offer formal PDI training and franchise opportunities.

If you are happy to help in any way, we would LOVE to have you join our UK Supporters Map. When PDIs ask us if we know ADIs or trainers local to them, we check our Supporters Map and can put them in contact with you.
