This workshop is ideal for anyone eagerly anticipating a standards check invitation, preparing for a part 3 or for those wanting to develop skills following the feedback from a recent experience.

The workshop will give you some inside knowledge of what to expect and how to ensure that on the day, you feel prepared, as well as give you an opportunity to see how the criteria you are being graded against is adapted into your everyday teaching.

Lou Walsh delivered these workshops after training instructors since the new standards check format came in, in April 2014. Lou gave a back seat view of what it’s like to be in the hot seat! With her experience of accompanying and observing many instructors, Lou was well placed to pass on information, advice, real life examples and suggestions.

Unfortunately in August 2023, Lou passed away. Lou was a huge part of Go Green and her knowledge and experiences remain an asset to Go Green and the training provided from this.

Go Green continues to be a fabulous resource, and Blaine, Laura and Deucalion are in a fortunate position to have taken on so much of Lou’s wisdom, passion, knowledge and experiences, as well as drawing on their own experiences, knowledge and understanding of training instructors first hand over many, many years.

We know how valuable the part 3 and standards check workshops are and therefore these will continue to run, starting again in 2024. Between us, we will share our experiences and thoughts, clarifying test criteria, introducing teaching tools and techniques to enhance your lessons, and to help you prepare for the big day. We will look at common pitfalls, how to understand the competencies, and we will make it make sense for you, through our years of experience.
